Irene Ann Heffernan Ho (born 1951) is the former Honorary Vice-Consul-in charge of Ireland to Hong Kong(). As of 1 December 2006, Mrs. Ho has retired from her diplomatic position, and joined Underwriters Laboratories, a not-for-profit product safety testing and certification organization, based in America. Ho has worked as an HR practitioner in Hong Kong for 20 years and was previously a partner with KPMG. Prior to joining KPMG she worked with HSBC and was responsible for recruitment, assessment and appraisal at an international level throughout the group. During her career in Hong Kong she was also involved in succession planning, evaluation and development for the Mass Transit Railway Corporation. Ho was born in Limerick, Ireland as Irene Ann Heffernan. The surname Ho was adopted after her marriage to Freddy Ho, a high-ranking civil servant in the HKSAR. Ho received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Trinity College in Dublin. Currently, Ho divides her time between her home in Hong Kong and her Chicago-based office.
